“Images of Dreams”
of the Otago Peninsula by well known New Zealand photographer
Tudor Caradoc-Davies

New photographic developments in progress, watch this space ...

Tudor Caradoc-Davies lives on the Otago Peninsula, Dunedin, New Zealand, on a headland with a view across the harbour and from east to west. He is fascinated by light and the effects it has on objects, landscapes, and our perceptions.  Because he is aware how transient these effects are, he carries his camera always, and captures images when they appear.

He lives with his wife, Gill, who keeps an eye on the harbour and the light, and calls when opportunities arise. They have between four to six cats ranging from moggies to Maine Coons, offering options between still “life” and action photography.

The Maine Coons are “Samwise Gamgee” (Sam) who is a “warm brown tabby”, athlete and philosopher, and Finrod Felagund (Flash) who is a “silver mackerel tabby”, athletic and artistic, as well as being a dancer.

Tudor uses Canon gear, evolving from G3 to 10D, 20D and now the 5D, and uses Canon lenses.

He shoots in RAW format, uses Lightzone and Capture 1 Pro for file conversion, Photoshop CS2 for editing, and QImage for printing.  He has recently bought an Epson 9800 and is printing on canvas by preference due to its texture and impact. Canvas prints can be very large !

He is very keen to discuss digital photographic issues, so use please e-mail for contact.

He and Gill have been growing South Africa Disa orchids for many years, and export them to florists overseas.
